The week-long competitions are wrapping up for the famed annual event: Prix de Lausanne. Sunday, February 5th will be the Gala celebrating 40 years of Prix de Lausanne.
40 Years of Prix de Lausanne
The Prix de Lausanne is an International dance competition held annually in Lausanne, Switzerland. The competition is for young dancers seeking to pursue a professional career in classical ballet, and many former prize winners of the competition are now leading stars with major ballet companies around the world. The competition is managed by a non-profit foundation organised by the Fondation en faveur de l’Art chorégraphique and is maintained by various sponsors, patrons and donors.

The Prix de Lausanne will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Sunday, February 5th, 2012 at 5pm. A Gala evening will be organized at the Palais de Beaulieu and will bring together principal dancers of the best ballet companies, all prize winners of the Prix de Lausanne.

The Prix de Lausanne will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Sunday, February 5th, 2012 at 5pm. A Gala evening will be organized at the Théâtre de Beaulieu and will bring together principal dancers of the best ballet companies, all prize winners of the Prix de Lausanne. A dinner dance will be held after the performance, around 7.30pm.
In 40 years of activity, the Prix de Lausanne has offered a life changing experience to 4200 young dancers from 77 different countries, and has enabled 236 of them to realize their dream : obtain a scholarship to a prestigious ballet school or company to launch their career.
